It's time to finally reveal the SW Modern kitchen! It's been awhile, (we've had a very busy start to the fall, hurray!) but we're so excited to share this amazing space with you! We love this light & sleek kitchen for it's super efficient layout and warm, cozy feel! Here is a bit of a recap from our Before: SW Modern Kitchen & Preliminary Design post. The clients had thought about expanding the footprint of their kitchen, but in the end decided they liked the cozy feel of it.
Our first task when we started the SW Modern Home project was to help furnish the living room and dining room area. The family was getting ready for a big event: their son's Bar Mitzvah and they wanted help with furnishing and styling the room for the party. The family had already worked with Fieldwork Design on some of the furnishings & finishes in the space, and the clients liked these pieces, however they still needed some finishing touches; artwork for both the living and
This week we are excited to introduce you to an amazing project - updating this beautiful mid- century home for a lovely family in the SW Hills of Portland! Our SW Modern Home was just featured in DWELL and now we're delighted to share each step of our design story for this spectacular project!!! Lighting is one of the most important factors when designing a room. Sometimes it can be overlooked, but if you have a well designed space that isn't well lit, how can anybody see it!?! We're only half kidding...but seriously, a well designed room needs several lighting options. Overhead lights, reading lights, sconce/wall lighting, table lamps, task lamps, etc. etc. Depending on the space, your lighting needs may vary. A white walled room is fresh & light, can be minimal (or not) and provides a great canvas for interesting texture
We've saved the best for last! The final space we are revealing from our Bridlemile Midcentury home is our favorite spot in the house. The perfect place to sip coffee and enjoy a lazy Sunday morning! This week we'll be going behind the scenes of the kitchen revamp and addition of this lovely kitchen nook. However, this gorgeous space almost wasn't in our scope. The clients originally wanted to hold off on remodeling their kitchen. The attached kitchen nook was a space they DI
Talk about a transformation! Our Bridlemile Midcentury bathroom went from cramped and claustrophobic, covered floor to ceiling with turquoise & pink tile, to light, airy & modern with a mid-century vibe. Because this is the only bathroom on the main floor of this home, it had to serve many functions; from kid-friendly bathroom to spa-like master bath, not to mention the main guest bath, it was a tall order. That's a lot to live up to for this small space, but the end result p
We are so excited to share the design process for our gorgeous Bridlemile Midcentury renovation with you! This project started with furnishing our clients' living room and adjoining dining room. Our clients wanted an 'adult' space, allowing friends and family to be entertained in comfort. The living room/dining room space was a blank slate as the clients had moved from a small one-bedroom (+loft) home and had placed most of their previously-owned furniture in the kid-friendly
