60 Minute Architectural Consult

Do you have a large renovation, addition or new construction project you are considering? Our Architectural Consult is the perfect, low-commitment way to explore your project with a professional who can help you evaluate what is possible for your space and answer questions about how to get started. During the consult, we will maximize our time to deliver valuable ideas and tailored advice focused on your specific priorities.
 
How we spend your time is up to you! Here are some examples:
 
We may discuss your proposed project, and determine what is feasible with zoning, set-backs and other building regulations.
We may discuss budget, and timeline (and how realistic they are) and share our recommended vendors and tradespeople. 
We may focus on talking through preliminary ideas for space planning.
 
Since every consult is unique, we take detailed notes throughout the process. This ensures you can fully concentrate on your time with our team.

After the consult, you'll receive a Google Slides Presentation that summarizes our conversation, including actionable steps for you to get started. Should you wish to continue working with us, we'll also discuss the best next steps for your project.
 
THE DESIGN PROCESS
 
Discovery Phase
To kick off our consult, we need to gather some key information ahead of time. 
Fill out your Design Questionnaire - You’ll receive a questionnaire that helps us understand your goals, lifestyle, and budget. Think about how you use your space and what you like and dislike in its current state. 
Look for Inspiration Images - We want to understand your vision for your project. Gather inspiration images (or create a Pinterest board) with at least 3 images that you like. These images could include a general “feel” for your space, or built elements that you’d like to see incorporated. Don’t stress…they don’t have to be perfect! We just need a starting point. 
Gather Documentation: Provide any available drawings, floorplans, and photos of your home prior to the consult. 
 
Architectural Research Phase - 30 Minutes (Prior to Consult)
Prior to your consult, we will spend 30 minutes researching your property to evaluate zoning, set-back and building regulations to help us prepare for the consult. 
  
The Consult - 60 minutes (In-Person)
We will arrive at the scheduled time and location for your consult. Every consult is a little bit different, but here is the loose structure. The time goes fast! 
Step 1: Questionnaire Review (15 minutes)
We will review your questionnaire and walk through your prioritized spaces to understand your goals for the space. 
Step 2: Walk through & Discussion (45  hour)
We will walk through your space with you, chat through high level design ideas, discuss the feasibility of the project, and answer any other questions you have within our allotted time frame.

What does my Architectural Consult Include?
Following our 60-minute session, you will be provided with a Google Slide Presentation based on your consult. It may include the following: 
 
Notes pertaining to general space planning and layout ideas discussed during the consult.
Information pertaining to zoning, set-back and other building regulations discussed during your consult.
Recommended next steps for your project.
Trusted Trade References relevant to your project.
