Wise Design was approached to assist with a new chapter in our client's lives: a move from Southern California to a new residence in Forest Park, Portland. A fun-loving, wonderful family with five children, our clients needed help turning a blank slate house into a home. Our clients loved color, pattern and vibrancy (as was evident by their Roche Bobois Mahjong Sofa, one of the only pieces of furniture they brought to Portland with them!) so we were thrilled to help bring this vision to life.

A mural wallpaper from Rebel Walls was custom printed to match the two story entryway, wrapping around every corner, up and down both sets of staircases to the second and basement floors and into the walls and skylights on the second floor landing. A truly incredible feat that we could not have accomplished without the help of NW Wallpaper Installers. Wallpaper continues throughout the home: a jewel toned peacock wallpaper from Rifle Paper Company in the sitting room, a Morris wallpaper that reminded us all of Narnia in the dining room, Hollyhocks wallpaper from House of Hackney in the kitchen, a "toile de femme" (one of our favorites!) in the laundry, an equestrian themed wallpaper from Sandberg in one of their son's rooms and two different colorways of the same dramatic floral print from House of Hackney in their daughter's room. Each space allows its occupants to have their own personality and flavor. Another son's bedroom received custom mural by Define Arts that spills onto a bookshelf door, leading to a hidden room with another mural of the night sky. The primary suite was fully renovated with new paneling on the headboard wall, custom built by Build and Paint Portland. Build and Paint also fabricated new open shelving in the kitchen, renovated the primary bedroom fireplace with gorgeous fluted marble tile, installed new lighting, hardware and paint throughout. New furnishings, rugs including stair runners and beautiful light fixtures helped make this empty home in a sparkling, personality filled space perfect for their whole family.
